PICkit™ 2 Debug Express
PICkit 2 Debug Express allows in-circuit debugging on selected PICmicro microcontroller units (MCUs). In-circuit debugging allows the designer to run, examine, and modify the program while the PICmicro MCU is embedded in the hardware, thereby assisting the designer in debugging the firmware and hardware together. Debug Express interacts with MPLAB IDE software. Programs can be run, stopped, and single-stepped. One breakpoint can be set and the processor can be reset. Register contents can be examined and modified when the processor is stopped. Debug Express requires MPLAB IDE version 7.40 or later. [more]

Innovator
Innovator is a powerful, fully integrated tool environment for developing, running and debugging virtual platforms. It comes with full SystemC™ (IEEE 1666) support. Virtual platforms are fully functional software models of complete embedded systems, enabling pre-silicon software development and software-driven system validation. The ability to parallelize the hardware and software development effort through virtual platforms significantly reduces the product design cycle and speeds time to market. [more]
Virtual Platform
Virtual platforms are software models of complete systems that provide software engineers with high-speed, pre-silicon software execution environments that allow the development of SoC-related software before hardware is available. These models are available up to 9 to 12 months prior to the hardware they simulate. Virtual platforms allow concurrent development of hardware and software, and significantly shorten the hardware/software integration - key advantages for system suppliers and developers to accelerate their products to market. [more]
DesignWare® System-Level Library
DesignWare System-Level Library models significantly reduce the time to create virtual platforms and are written in SystemC to work in any IEEE 1666 (SystemC)-compliant simulation environment. Virtual platforms are fast, full-function simulation models of hardware that enable development and integration of software months before hardware is available. [more]
