The configurable development system (CDS) supports a wide range of Freescale processors built on Power Architecture technology such as the MPC8548E family of processors including the MPC8548, MPC8547E, MPC8545E and MPC8543E. The system is primarily a development and evaluation system, which is enhanced by its modular design, making it highly configurable.
Motherboard
Carrier card
Processor daughter card
Expansion IO card
The CDS is installed in a PC box and includes a power supply. It is preloaded with U-boot and Linux BSP.
Using the CDS System on-board resources and an associated debugger, developers are able to download and run code, set breakpoints, display memory and registers, and connect proprietary hardware via the expansion connectors. That code can then be incorporated into a desired system with the MPC85xx processor.
