MPC837xE Modular Development System

The MPC837x Modular Development System (MDS) assists designers by providing a platform for system development based on the MPC837xE family. This platform enables designers to bring up silicon, develop new software applications and do performance benchmarking. It can also be used for customer evaluation and demonstration purposes in a wide variety of applications, such as networking, printing and storage.

  • MPC837xE with core frequency up to 667MHz
  • Dual 10/100/1000 Gigabit Ethernet transceivers supporting RGMII, RTBI, MII and SGMII
  • USB 2.0 transceiver ULPI for high speed (480Mb/s) and full speed (12 Mb/s), and serial USB transceiver for low speed (1.5Mb/s)
  • PCI support with riser connectors for PowerQUICC platform I/O board (PIB) or PCI extender
  • Dual RS232 transceiver connect to DUART
  • Memory
    • 512MB DDR2 up to 400MHz data rate
    • 32MB NOR Flash
    • 32MB NAND Flash
    • 4Mb SPI Flash
    • SD Card Connector
  • High Speed Serial Interfaces (HSSI)
    • 2 SATA HSSI for a total of x4 SATA (MPC8379E)
    • 1 SATA & 1 PCI Express HSSI for a total of x2 SATA ports and x2 PCI Express (MPC8377E)
    • 1 PCI Express & 1 SGMII HSSI for a total of x2 PCI Express and 2 SGMII (MPC8378E)
  • Power Options: can either be powered by 5V external power supply, through PCI edge connector as a PCI add-in card, or through PIB when I/O and processor boards are combined
