Xilinx® Virtex™-4 FX LC Evaluation Kit

The Xilinx Virtex-4 FX LC Evaluation Kit is the ideal solution for investigating the embedded PowerPC™ and tri-mode Ethernet MAC included in the Xilinx Virtex-4 FX FPGA family. These advanced on-chip features require interfaces and supporting circuits that the FX LC platform delivers. The kit is also ideal for experimenting with the UltraController-II design from Xilinx. The FX LC kit bundles a full-featured, expandable Virtex-4 FX based system board with the Xilinx Embedded Development Kit (EDK), a power supply, user guide and reference designs. Optional Xilinx ISE™ software and application specific P160 expansion modules are also available.

The Virtex-4 FX LC board is based on the 4VFX12 FPGA, with a PowerPC 405 core, two tri-mode Ethernet MACs and 12,312 logic cells. The FX LC board supports an assortment of prototyping interfaces and functions including, 10/100/1000 Ethernet PHY, DDR memory, flash memory, serial port, USB-to-UART port, 2 x 16 character LCD panel, user switches and LEDs, clocks, and a System ACE™ interface. A P160 expansion slot is also available for the addition of application modules and custom circuits. Configuration support is provided by a JTAG interface and a PlatformFlash memory device.
