The deRFarm7-15A02 module combines compact design with high RF and processor performance. And is especially suitable for resource-intensive WSN devices such as routers and coordinators. An outstanding feature of the deRFarm7 family is the integrated Ethernet MAC. With minimal external components added, the Ethernet MAC enables the modules to be used as gateway between wireless ZigBee and especially 6LoWPAN networks and wired backends.

The 512 kB flash and 128 kB RAM offer sufficient resources to perform even demanding tasks within a sensor network. To enable secure transmission the module is equipped with a 128-bit AES encryption.

In addition to the pluggable version deRFarm7-15A02 a compatible SMD version deRFarm7-15C02 will be available for higher quantities. For the integration into own sensor networks no further external components other than power supply and sensors are needed.

The UF.L connector also enables mounting into metal housings with the antenna attached externally. For smaller sensors and shorter distances the pin compatible version deRFarm7-15A00 with chip ceramic antenna is better suited.

The interchangeability of the deRFarm7 family and the deRFmega128 family offers the user highest flexibility regarding frequency range and resources. Therefore the ideal combination for each node in a network can be found easily.

Dresden elektronik will offer a development kit dedicated to the deRFarm7 family. The deRFdevelopmentKit arm7 contains several nodes, all necessary drivers and many software examples. The user receives a complete development environment that enables the quick entry into sensor network technology.
