The Zoom Starter Development Kit (SDK) is a low-cost, high-performance application development kit for evaluating the functionality of the System on Module (SOM) Card Engine and associated processor.

Application development is performed right on the product-ready Card Engine and software Board Support Packages (BSPs) included in the kit, which enables you to seamlessly transfer your application code and hardware into production.

The Card Engine is ideal for applications in the medical, point-of-sale, industrial, and security markets. From patient monitoring and medical imaging, to card payment terminals and bar code readers, to CCTV cameras and intruder alarms, the Card Engine allows for powerful versatility and long-life products.

The Zoom SDK includes the Card Engine, application baseboard, and accessories required to immediately begin development work.

  • Windows CE 5.0 BSP

Memory

  • Flash memory, choice of 128 MB NAND or 32 MB NOR
  • Boot is dependent upon type of flash on Card Engine
  • SDRAM up to 128 MB (64 MB standard)

Network/USB>Serial Connectors

  • 10/100 Base-T Ethernet controller (application/debug)
  • USB 2.0 full-speed host interface
  • USB 2.0 full-speed device interface
  • Three SSP interfaces (one dedicated to SPI port)
  • Three 16C550 compatible UARTs

Display

  • Built-in LCD controller supports up to 800 x 600 x 16 bits per pixel (bpp)
  • Touch screen controller (Philips UCB1400BE)

Audio

  • AC97 compliant audio codec (Philips UCB1400BE)
