The GPIO (General Purpose Input/Output) Expansion Board is the first in a series of expansion boards for the phyCORE Carrier Boards offering an expansion bus. The GPIO offers quick and easy demonstration of many features of the microcontroller populating various phyCORE Single Board Computers that mount on the Carrier Board. Multiple GPIO devices enable input and output testing. The input elements include six color-coded push buttons, an 8-pin DIP-switch and crimp connectors for connection of up to eight analog lines. Output elements include eight LEDs and crimp connectors for connection of up to four motors. Three potentiometers are available for control of A/D-converters. The GPIO is also available as a bare PCB, enabling user design of peripheral hardware for test, demonstration and prototyping purposes.
