
The Stellaris® Stepper Motor Control Module (MDL-STEPPER) is arapid-time-to-market module solution that offers OEMs the capability of quickly adding stepper motion control capability to any application. Combining thestrength and flexibility of Stellaris microcontrollers with Fairchild Semiconductor´s gate drivers and MOSFETs creates an advanced stepper motorcontrol solution that has been carefully engineered for performance, cost, and flexibility. Stepper motors are particularly suited for use in two- and three-axis CNC equipment, sorting and grading equipment, specialized printers and scanners, and factory automation.
The MDL-STEPPER contains the feature-rich Stellaris LM3S617 microcontrollerdesigned for motion control applications and a Fairchild Semiconductor powerstage consisting of Fairchild’s FAN73832 HVIC Driver and FDMS3672 MOSFET. TheMDL-STEPPER takes advantage of the integrated features of the Stellarismicrocontroller and the processing power of the ARM® Cortex™-M3 core toimplement chopper control without the need for an external step controller orcomparator circuits.
