Freescale has developed an eReader reference developmentsystem as the next installment in the Freescale Smart ApplicationBlueprint for Rapid Engineering (SABRE) series of platforms. By enablinga Soft EPD Controller to drive the E Ink panel, there is no need forcostly external controllers and associated memories. The SABRE platformfor eReader provides a leisure eReader reference implementation enablingebook display on an E Ink panel, touch control, audio playback as wellas the ability to add WLAN, 3G MODEM or Bluetooth. The ReferenceDevelopment system was designed to facilitate software development withthe ultimate goal of faster time to market. The system will supportGoogle Android and utilizes Thundersoft eReader application software.
