Portability of the USB510L is enhanced due to the very compact pod and because no external power is required except for a USB connection. This makes the new emulator very well suited for travel and use with notebook computers. Many of the older and less-sophisticated parallel port and PCMCIA emulators cannot be used on modern laptops and the USB510L is a faster, easier and cost-effective replacement. Blackhawk is the first company to introduce a USB JTAG emulator for Texas Instruments DSP’s and the new USB510L raises the standard for portability, reliability and ease of installation.

 Two optional add-ons to the USB510L are the Blackhawk FlashBurn utility and Blackhawk Isolation Adapter. BHFlashBurn is a scriptable utility that follows the freely available Texas Instruments API and algorithms for programming DSPs with on-chip flash. Blackhawk Isolation Adapter which protects from ground loop voltage, harsh environments and new, untested designs. Supports 3.3-5.0v targets with TI 14-pin connections. The USB510L JTAG Emulator is also compatible with Code Composer Studio™ Flash-burner utility.
