The C164CM/SM/SV extends Infineon´s C166-Microcontroller family to the low end without cutting in total performance or the excellent real time behaviour. Acknowledged high computing and peripheral performance built into a 1.2 x 1.2 cm² small TQFP-64 package makes it a perfect fit for applications, where electrical motor drive capability and CAN (C164CM) or LIN networks needs to be combined with very low PCB space consumption. Up to 25 MHz CPU clock, 10 mA port driving capability and an improved PWM unit for AC-, DC- and reluctance drives offer additional cost saving potential in a broad range of industrial and automotive applications.
The C164CM devices are very compact members of the Infineon family of full featured 16-bit single-chip CMOS microcontrollers. The C164CM combines high CPU performance (up to 12.5 million instructions per second) with high peripheral functionality and provides a means for power reduction.
Several key features contribute to the high performance of the C164CM (the indicated timings refer to a CPU clock of 25 MHz).
