Uppsala, Sweden—March 27, 2012—As announced today by Express Logic, Inc., IAR Systems® has the exclusive rights to sell the new RTOS package ThreadX-Lite™. Users of IAR Embedded Workbench®, one of the world’s most widely used development tool chains, gain a unique opportunity to use one of the best and most recognized RTOSes in the market with full cost control, thanks to a single-user licensing model enabling use on multiple projects.
“IAR Systems is determined to supply its customers with ways of creating more simplified and efficient workflows,” comments Stefan Skarin, CEO, IAR Systems. “Many of our customers have expressed a need for well-integrated, advanced tools that correspond to their enhanced needs when working with more complex applications. We believe that they will greatly benefit from this additional possibility we are able to offer them. Of course, we are very proud that Express Logic has chosen to work exclusively with IAR Systems for this new RTOS package.”
“We are very excited to announce this unique single-user RTOS license,” says William E. Lamie, President of Express Logic, Inc. “ThreadX-Lite is available only for use with IAR Embedded Workbench, and is tightly integrated with that IDE. We are now able to offer IAR Systems’ gigantic customer base the benefits of using a high-performing, completely integrated RTOS at a low cost, and we believe in IAR Systems’ strong global sales, support, and marketing organizations. ”
ThreadX-Lite is a priority-based, preemptive scheduling real-time operating system for ARM® Cortex™-M development. It is tightly integrated with the powerful C/C++ compiler and debugger tool suite IAR Embedded Workbench, and is designed to be small, fast, and easy-to-use, while maintaining the functionality and efficiency of a highly optimized RTOS. The IAR C-SPY® Debugger features an RTOS awareness plugin module that gives a high level of control and visibility over an application built on top of a real-time operating system. ThreadX-Lite is bundled and delivered as an IAR Embedded Workbench project, and is sold at the price of $4.500 per seat.
