NXP Secure Interface and Power sponsors AskInterface, the first program to utilize the new “Video Selfie” platform to display and share technical information.
San Jose, CA, July 20, 2015…………Convergence Promotions LLC announces the launch of AskInterface, a new social media platform and community based on the “Selfie” and geared towards asking and answering technical questions about NXP devices. Sponsored by the Secure Interface and Power division of NXP, the new program combines a social media-based Q&A platform with a “Video Selfie”.
According to Glenn ImObersteg, the president of Convergence Promotions LLC, “Engineers like to talk to other engineers, and short of a face-to-face encounter, we wanted to provide a platform where the engineers could interface with each other. The Selfie format is ideal. Since its inception in 2007 with the Myspace Pic, the medium has become mainstream, and so has video (over 100 hours of video footage are loaded onto YouTube every minute). By combining the Selfie and Video into a Q&A platform, we’ve created a new genre—the “Video Selfie.”
The premise of the AskInterface program is simple. Link engineers with technical questions to engineers who can answer those questions. Select the best questions and the most accurate answers and reward each with a $100 Amazon Gift Card. Posting the videos together on the AskInterface YouTube Channel, on NXP.com, and on www.AskInterface.com will provide the global engineering community access to the exchange and the information. Participants in the program will be able to access information and technical content from a catalog of topics from NXP Secure Interface and Power such as I2C, High Speed Interfaces, USB Type-C, Load Switches, RF-IF Building Blocks, etc. In addition to selected topics from NXP highlighted each month, participants are also encouraged to ask NXP general questions, such as “How can NXP Load Switches solve an application concern?”
Kris Kendall, MarCom Director for NXP Secure Interface and Power says “We’re constantly looking for ways to engage with the community of engineers that will use our products now and in the future. This program offers valuable content and relevant exchanges between users that we haven’t managed to provide previously.”
The AskInterface program launches July 20, 2015. To register or for more information on the program, visit: www.askinterface.com.
