Freescale Technology Days:
In-Depth Training Coming to a City Near You!

Freescale Technology Days bring the technology and the know-how on a variety of design topics to a North American city near you. Designed by engineers for engineers, these training sessions provide hands-on platform and tools training – everything you need for your next innovative design.

Not all sessions are available at every stop of the tour, so check the city of your choice to see which sessions are being offered.

Comparison of DDRx and SDRAM

As DDR memory invades the broad embedded market, designers must understand specific design considerations which are substantially different that SRAM design. This introduction describes these design considerations and points you to in depth materials developed by Freescale in combination with the leading DDR memory suppliers.

MPC8349E-mITXE Reference Platform

The MPC8349E-mITXE reference platform is ideal for hardware and software development. In addition to the highly integrated MPC8349E processor, the reference platform leverages external components to support the broad integration of I/O and memory interfaces.  A board support package (BSP) is pre-installed on theMPC8349E-mITXE and consists of the Linux kernel, the Linux Target Image Builder or LTIB, and u-boot loader flashed into on-board Flash memory. LTIB is a suite of tools consisting of source code packages include boot loaders and linux kernel sources as well as many user-space source code packages to build a complete BSP. LTIB also provides compiler packages required to build the BSP.

Quadros Systems, Inc. - RTXC File Translation Software

Store FAT32-formatted Files on NAND Flash Memory

You want to connect your embedded system to a PC via USB and have it read the stored files on the embedded resident flash memory. But NAND flash cannot easily be used as a simple, contiguous storage array: it may contain bad blocks; good blocks can develop bad bits; heavily used blocks will wear out. RTXCftl file translation layer manages the NAND flash while providing an appropriate interface to the host system.
