Hercules Safety ARM MCUs

The Hercules platform consists of two Cortex®-R-based microcontroller families (RM for Industrial/Medical and TMS570 for Automotive/Transportation) that deliver a wide variety of performance, connectivity, and memory options. Hercules microcontrollers implement safety diagnostics in hardware to maximize performance and reduce software overhead.  SafeTI design packages for Hercules including safety documentation, tools and software, make developing functional safety applications easier.  The Hercules dual-ARM® Cortex® -R lockstep architecture, hardware BIST, MPU, ECC and on-chip clock and voltage monitoring are some of the key functional safety features available.

Hercules devices are certified to both IEC 61508 up to SIL-3 and ISO 26262 up to ASIL-D.  The Hercules RM family provides the highest level of performance for broad safety applications, including medical and industrial, and are developed to the IEC 61508 SIL-3 safety standard. The Hercules TMS570 family provides high performance for automotive and transportation applications and is well suited for applications that need to meet IEC 61508 SIL-3 or ISO 26262 ASIL-D requirements.
