ARM7-based Standard Products, ASSPs and ASICs: Your Passport to ARM Technology. Atmel leverages its expertise and years of experience in ARM-based integration to bring to the market a wide range of general-purpose and application-specific standard products as well as ASICs built around the ARM7TDMI™ core. The rapidly-expanding AT91 series of standard products includes: Atmel’s newly-released SAM7S series is a family of low-cost, low-pin count Flash microcontrollers based on the 32-bit ARM RISC processor. They feature: - up to 256 Kbytes high-speed Flash
- up to 64 Kbytes SRAM
- a large set of peripherals, including a USB 2.0 device
- a complete set of system functions minimizing the number of external components
The series is an ideal migration path for 8-bit microcontroller users looking for additional performance and extended memory. Atmel’s ARM-based microcontroller products are supported by a wide range of evaluation boards and development tools, as well as by e-mail support and an AT91 forum. The aim is to make the task of developing an application as simple, rapid and error-free as possible. These development tools comprise: - Development boards for all Atmel’s ARM-based products
- Software including basic device drivers and application software layers
- Third-party development tools including compilers, debuggers, JTAG ICE interfaces, Real-time Operating Systems (RTOS), TCP/IP stacks and application-specific software objects.
